P5 FRAMESET

P5 FRAMESET for Custom Builds

The P5 FRAMESET provides a dedicated foundation for riders who want to create a custom time trial or triathlon bike. Cervélo developed the P5 around aerodynamic performance, precise fit, and race-focused integration. The frameset gives riders the flexibility to choose their own drivetrain, wheels, cockpit setup, and other components.

The P5 uses an aerodynamic frame designed specifically for time trial and triathlon riding. Cervélo says the latest frame is about one watt faster aerodynamically than the previous model. It also provides clearance for tires up to 34 mm.

The frameset includes Profile Design 52ASC extensions with up to 30 degrees of adjustment. This gives riders more freedom when creating an aerodynamic position that matches their fit requirements.

Cervélo P5 Aerodynamic Frame

The P5 FRAMESET focuses on reducing aerodynamic drag while maintaining practical race-day usability. Cervélo lowered the basebar to reduce frontal area and increased the available stack adjustment. The new one-piece front end allows stack adjustment of up to 40 mm.

The riser also provides extension tilt from zero to 30 degrees in five-degree increments. This adjustment can help riders fine-tune their cockpit position.

A time trial bike needs to work as a complete aerodynamic system. Therefore, the frame, cockpit, wheels, and tires all play important roles. Starting with the P5 frameset allows riders to select components that match their individual goals and preferences.

Adjustable Time Trial Cockpit

The cockpit is an important part of any dedicated time trial setup. The P5 uses an integrated front-end design that simplifies assembly and adjustment. Cervélo states that the new system makes the cockpit easier to assemble and adjust.

The Profile Design 52ASC extensions add further flexibility. Riders can adjust the extension angle up to 30 degrees, giving them more options for their aerodynamic position.

The wider and thicker armrests on the current P5 also focus on comfort and control. Cervélo says the larger surface area helps riders remain confident while holding an aerodynamic position.

These features make the frameset suitable for riders who want to spend time refining their position rather than simply accepting a fixed cockpit configuration.

P5 FRAMESET Storage and Integration

The P5 FRAMESET includes practical storage features for riders preparing a complete race build. Cervélo lists aero top-tube storage, an aero water bottle, and a seatpost water-bottle mount as part of the frameset specification.

Storage is particularly useful for triathletes. Nutrition and hydration can become important during longer events. Integrated solutions can also keep essential equipment organized without compromising the clean appearance of the bike.

The frameset therefore provides more than an aerodynamic frame and fork. It gives riders a foundation for creating a complete race-oriented setup.

Cervélo P5 Fit and Control

Fit plays a major role when building a time trial bike. Riders need to balance aerodynamic positioning with control and sustainable power output.

The P5 FRAMESET provides several adjustment options to help achieve that balance. Stack adjustment can reach 40 mm, while the extensions can tilt from zero to 30 degrees. Cervélo also offers the P5 in six frame sizes, including the size 61 added to support taller riders.

The current P5 geometry ranges from size 48 through size 61. This gives riders and fit specialists multiple frame options when selecting a suitable starting point.

A properly configured cockpit can help riders maintain their aerodynamic position for longer. As a result, the frame’s adjustment range is an important part of the overall P5 platform.

Aerodynamic Triathlon Frameset

The P5 FRAMESET is also suited to riders building a dedicated triathlon bike. Cervélo designed the P5 for both time trials and triathlon, with integrated storage and a cockpit designed around an aerodynamic riding position.

The frame also incorporates a fastback seat-stay design. Cervélo states that this design reduces vertical stiffness by approximately 22% while maintaining the lateral stiffness needed for power transfer.

This approach focuses on combining aerodynamic performance with control and compliance. That can be valuable during longer events, where riders may spend several hours on the bike.

Build Your Cervélo P5

A frameset gives riders more control over the final specification. You can select a drivetrain, wheelset, saddle, and other components based on your riding requirements.

The P5 FRAMESET provides the aerodynamic foundation for that process. Its adjustable cockpit, integrated storage, tire clearance, and race-focused frame design create a flexible starting point for a custom build.

Riders can also compare the complete P5 configurations, including P5 Red AXS 1, P5 Dura Ace Di2, P5 Force AXS, and P5 Ultegra Di2. Each complete bike uses the same P5 platform while offering different component specifications.

A Custom Cervélo Time Trial Platform

The P5 FRAMESET is designed for riders who want to build a specialized aerodynamic race bike. Its frame combines aerodynamic development with adjustable cockpit features, practical storage, and modern tire clearance.

The frameset provides the foundation for a personalized build rather than locking riders into one component configuration. This makes it suitable for athletes who already have preferred components or want to select each part of their race setup.

For time trials and triathlon, the P5 offers a purpose-built platform focused on aerodynamic positioning and race performance. The frameset gives riders the opportunity to create a Cervélo P5 that matches their own fit, equipment choices, and riding goals.
