ASPERO APEX Gravel Performance
The ASPERO APEX brings Cervélo’s gravel-focused engineering to a versatile 12-speed gravel bike. It is designed for riders who want speed, control and efficiency across mixed surfaces. The current ASPERO platform combines aerodynamic development with comfort and practical gravel features.
For riders looking for a capable Cervélo gravel bike, the ASPERO APEX offers a balanced setup for gravel racing, training and long days on varied roads. Its design focuses on maintaining speed while giving riders the control needed when the route becomes rough or unpredictable.
Wide-Range 12-Speed Gearing
The ASPERO APEX uses a 46T chainring with an 11–50T, 12-speed drivetrain. This combination gives riders a wide range of gears for both faster gravel sections and demanding climbs. The broad gearing range also makes it easier to adapt the bike to different routes and terrain.
The gearing is particularly useful for gravel riders who regularly move between paved roads, hard-packed trails and steeper off-road sections. Riders can maintain a comfortable cadence while still having the range needed for challenging climbs.
Cervélo ASPERO Gravel Bike Design
Cervélo developed the ASPERO around the demands of modern gravel riding. The frame uses a threaded T47a bottom bracket, while the Universal Derailleur Hanger supports compatibility with SRAM Transmission drivetrains. Cervélo also revised the frame to improve aerodynamic efficiency, rear compliance and mud clearance.
Dropped seat stays help provide additional compliance at the rear. Cervélo also reduced front-end stiffness slightly to improve comfort during longer rides and races. These changes create a gravel bike that balances responsive handling with improved comfort over rough surfaces.
Gravel Handling and Tire Setup
The ASPERO platform is built around 700C wheels across its current size range. Cervélo offers the frame in sizes from 48 through 61, helping riders select a setup that matches their body dimensions and riding goals.
The geometry is designed for predictable handling on gravel. That makes the bike suitable for fast sections, technical surfaces and long mixed-surface routes. Tire selection can also be adapted to the terrain and conditions of each ride.
ASPERO APEX for Gravel Racing
The ASPERO APEX is designed for riders who want a performance-oriented gravel bike without limiting the bike to race-day use. Its aerodynamic frame development, wide-range gearing and gravel-focused geometry make it suitable for competitive riding as well as regular training.
On fast gravel roads, the aerodynamic design helps support efficient riding. On rougher terrain, the frame’s compliance-focused updates help create a more comfortable ride. The result is a versatile platform for riders who want one bike for different types of gravel riding.
Vision Team 30 Wheelset
The current ASPERO APEX specification includes a Vision Team 30 wheelset. The bike also uses an alloy handlebar and alloy seatpost, providing a practical equipment package for riders looking for a capable gravel bike.
The complete build is positioned within the current ASPERO range at $3,750 in the U.S. Cervélo notes that prices and component specifications can change, so the manufacturer’s current product page should be checked for the latest configuration.
ASPERO APEX for Training and Adventure
The ASPERO APEX can be used for more than gravel competition. Its 12-speed drivetrain provides useful gearing for long routes, while the gravel-focused frame is designed for changing surfaces and conditions.
Whether the goal is structured gravel training, weekend exploration or a long mixed-surface adventure, the ASPERO platform provides a performance-focused foundation. Its combination of speed, handling and comfort makes it adaptable to different riding styles.
