ASPERO FORCE

ASPERO FORCE Gravel Performance

The ASPERO FORCE is a gravel bike designed for riders who want speed, responsive handling and versatility across mixed surfaces. Cervélo developed the ASPERO platform with gravel racing in mind, bringing ideas from its road racing bikes into a dedicated gravel design.

The bike is suitable for fast gravel races, competitive training and longer rides on changing terrain. Its gravel-focused frame provides the foundation for a capable setup that can handle both smooth surfaces and rougher sections.

Cervélo currently lists the ASPERO FORCE at $7,200 as part of its ASPERO gravel range.

Cervélo ASPERO Gravel Bike Design

Cervélo designed the ASPERO around the demands of modern gravel riding. Gravel races can include long straight sections, steep climbs, loose surfaces and technical corners. A capable gravel bike needs to remain efficient while also providing predictable handling when conditions change.

The ASPERO platform focuses on a balance between speed and control. Its geometry is designed specifically for gravel rather than simply adapting a traditional road bike for off-road use.

This makes the bike suitable for riders who want a dedicated gravel platform for racing and fast mixed-surface riding.

SRAM Force Drivetrain

The ASPERO FORCE uses a SRAM Force drivetrain that provides electronic shifting for fast and controlled gear changes. Electronic shifting can be useful during gravel racing because riders can change gears quickly as the terrain changes.

A wide gearing range is also important for gravel riding. Fast sections can require higher gears, while steep climbs and loose surfaces can require easier gearing. The drivetrain helps riders adapt to these changes without interrupting their riding rhythm.

For structured training, riders can also combine the drivetrain with their preferred cycling computer and performance equipment.

Gravel Handling and Tire Clearance

Gravel courses vary considerably. Riders can encounter hard-packed roads, loose gravel, rough sections and technical turns during the same ride.

The ASPERO is designed around this type of riding. Its gravel geometry provides a stable platform while maintaining the responsive handling needed for faster courses.

Tire selection also plays an important role. Riders can choose tires according to terrain, weather and race requirements. Wider gravel tires can provide additional comfort and traction on rough surfaces, while narrower options can suit faster and smoother courses.

This flexibility makes the ASPERO useful for both competitive gravel racing and everyday mixed-surface riding.

ASPERO FORCE for Gravel Racing

The ASPERO FORCE is built for riders who want a fast gravel bike without moving to a dedicated cyclocross platform. Its geometry and frame design are suited to modern gravel courses where efficiency and control both matter.

On faster sections, the bike can maintain a strong pace. On rougher terrain, the gravel-focused setup provides the control needed to keep moving confidently.

The platform can also be adapted to different race strategies. Riders can select tires, wheels and cockpit settings according to the course and their personal preferences.

Cervélo Gravel Bike for Training and Racing

A gravel bike needs to work beyond race day. The ASPERO FORCE can also serve as a training bike for riders who regularly combine paved roads with gravel.

Its gravel-specific design makes it useful for endurance rides, mixed-surface routes and longer training sessions. Riders can explore roads that would be unsuitable for a traditional road bike while maintaining a performance-focused setup.

The bike is also part of Cervélo’s wider off-road lineup, which includes the ASPERO-5 and R5-CX. This gives riders different options depending on whether their priority is gravel racing, general gravel riding or cyclocross.

ASPERO FORCE Equipment and Setup

The ASPERO FORCE is positioned within Cervélo’s current ASPERO range at $7,200. The range also includes the ASPERO GRX RX827 Di2, ASPERO Rival AXS 1, ASPERO Apex AXS 1, ASPERO GRX RX610 and ASPERO Apex.

Choosing the right configuration depends on the rider’s intended terrain, riding style and preferred component setup. Gravel riders can also fine-tune performance through tire selection, wheel choice, gearing and cockpit configuration.
