ASPERO GRX RX827 Di2 Gravel Performance
The ASPERO GRX RX827 Di2 is a gravel bike designed for riders who want speed, control and versatility across mixed-surface roads. Cervélo developed the ASPERO specifically for gravel riding, with a focus on efficient performance and confident handling.
The bike combines a gravel-specific carbon frame with Shimano GRX RX827 Di2 electronic shifting. It also features a power meter, wide-range gearing and a Reserve 48/53GR GR wheelset. This creates a performance-focused setup for gravel racing, training and longer adventures.
Cervélo currently lists the ASPERO GRX RX827 Di2 at $7,050.
Shimano GRX RX827 Di2 Electronic Shifting
The ASPERO GRX RX827 Di2 uses Shimano GRX RX827 Di2 electronic shifting. The current specification includes a 46T chainring and a 10–51T 12-speed drivetrain. It also includes a power meter.
The wide gearing range helps riders adapt to changing gravel terrain. Higher gears are useful on fast sections, while the lower range helps on steep climbs and rough surfaces.
Electronic shifting also provides quick gear changes. Riders can change gears as the terrain changes without taking their attention away from the road.
The integrated power meter is useful for riders who follow structured training. Power data can help track effort during intervals, climbs and endurance rides.
Cervélo ASPERO Gravel Bike Design
Cervélo developed the ASPERO around the demands of modern gravel riding. The current platform features several updates designed to improve speed, comfort and versatility.
The frame uses a threaded bottom bracket and cleaner cable routing. It also features a Universal Derailleur Hanger, which provides compatibility with SRAM Transmission drivetrains. Cervélo also dropped the seat stays to increase compliance at the rear and reduced front-end stiffness to improve comfort during long rides.
The frame also provides additional mud clearance. This makes the bike better suited to changing gravel conditions, particularly when courses become wet or muddy.
Gravel Handling and Tire Setup
Gravel riding requires a balance between stability and responsiveness. The ASPERO geometry is designed specifically for mixed-surface riding rather than simply adapting a traditional road bike.
The current frame is available in sizes from 48 to 61. Cervélo uses 700C wheels across the size range and provides geometry designed around gravel riding.
Tire selection can also change the character of the bike. Riders can choose tire width and tread according to terrain, weather and riding style.
Wider gravel tires can provide more traction and comfort on rough surfaces. Faster tires can suit smoother gravel courses and mixed road routes.
Power Meter and Wide-Range Gearing
The ASPERO GRX RX827 Di2 includes a power meter as part of its current specification. This gives riders access to useful performance data without requiring a separate power-measuring system.
The 46T chainring works with a 10–51T 12-speed drivetrain. This combination provides a broad range of gears for both fast gravel sections and steep climbs.
For riders who train with power, this setup can make the bike suitable for both competition and structured endurance sessions.
Reserve 48/53GR GR Wheelset
The bike comes with a Reserve 48/53GR GR wheelset and DT Swiss 370 hubs.
A dedicated gravel wheelset helps create a balanced setup for mixed-surface riding. Wheel choice can have a noticeable effect on acceleration, handling and overall ride feel.
Combined with the carbon frame and carbon handlebar and seatpost, the equipment gives the ASPERO GRX RX827 Di2 a performance-focused configuration.
ASPERO GRX RX827 Di2 for Gravel Racing
The ASPERO GRX RX827 Di2 is designed for riders who want a capable gravel bike for racing, training and long-distance riding. Shimano GRX Di2 provides electronic shifting, while the wide-range drivetrain supports changing gradients and surfaces.
The frame also provides the handling characteristics expected from a dedicated gravel platform. As a result, the bike can be used across a wide variety of gravel routes.
Cervélo’s current range also includes the ASPERO FORCE, ASPERO RIVAL AXS 1, ASPERO APEX AXS 1, ASPERO GRX RX610 and ASPERO APEX.
